On a bright Spring morning in Dereham the challenge for both teams was how they would respond to playing in warm, dry conditions for the first time in what seemed like an eternity! The answer was that both North Norfolk and Watton played some fantastic attacking hockey and created lots of chances at both ends, which made for a great game for the spectators of both clubs.
North Norfolk once again kept their shape beautifully, moved the ball around quickly and alternated positions throughout the match with every girl looking comfortable in every position. The movement off the ball by this group was absolutely sensational. There were always two or more players in space ready to recieve every pass and it's that effortless enthusiam for the sport which makes this team so easy to coach.
The first North Norfolk goal deserves a mention for the speed of the transition from defence to a goalscoring opportunity which comprised of four long, first-time, diagonal cross field passes culminating in a first-time finish at the back post. That would've be undefendable at any level.
Special moments today were: A great debut for Amy, Izzie's fantastic first Dev's goal and Phoebe setting a new record for goals in a single game.
Goalscoreres for NN were: Phoebe(5), Izzie(2), Kiki and Darcy. Girl of the Game was Phoebe.
