In the (very) early pushback at Taverham, City dominated possession in the first quarter and North Norfolk fought hard defensively with much of the play in and around the North Norfolk D. The girls began to make forays into the opposition half during an competitive and evenly matched second quarter before Alice H smashed one out of nowhere into the top left corner of the City goal and the nerves began to settle.
The girls looked much more composed in the second half and at times played some breathtaking attacking hockey through the channels and passed the ball beautifully around the attacking third, exploiting the space behind the opposition defence. North Norfolk scored four quick goals in the third quarter to effectively seal the result. With the score at 5-0, Gemma had to leave the field and the girls played for just over a quarter with only ten players on the pitch with no drop in quality or intensity. A very good performance from everyone. Well done girls!
Goal scorers for North Norfolk were: Alice G(2), Alice H, Phoebe and Poppy. Girl of the Game was Phoebe.
