North Norfolk Ladies 1s had a road trip to top of the division Sudbury. Sudbury started strong from the off, getting a short corner within the 1st ten minutes but failed to score after an amazing save on the post by Jo Todd. Sudbury continued to press and gained another short corner, which this time was put away. North Norfolk didn’t let their heads go down, now it was their turn to attack, they continued to have most of the possession for the rest of the 1st half, receiving several short corners, but not being able to break through that Sudbury defensive wall. Then just before half time Sudbury received another short corner and this time finished it off with a well drilled drag flick 2-0.
2nd half and North Norfolk continued to have most of the possession, receiving short corner after short corner, but were denied any goals by the very good and agile Sudbury keeper, and that defensive wall again!. Sudbury finally broke away on the attack, with a another shot at goal, Louise Potter Wood, North Norfolk’s Goalkeeper did an amazing save, but unfortunately landed awkwardly on her shoulder, but being a real hero, she managed to carry on playing, then after saving 2 penalty flicks too. After this Sudbury continued to attack and scored another 2 goals, making the final score 4-0 to Sudbury. The score certainly did not reflect the game even the Sudbury coach said this. Back home to Cromer next week.
