Ladies 1’s got another point on the board but it was a case of what could have been in a 2-2 draw with Cambridge University.
North Norfolk picked up from where they left off last week and were playing the ball around nicely. Deservedly they took the lead from a well worked short corner routine which saw Lucy Spencer set up Hannah Catling to tap in at the far post.
Lucy Spencer was on fire throughout the game and caused the opposition no end of problems but North Norfolk’s youthful opponents had a few tricks up theirs sleeve and equalised from a short corner.
Short corners were playing a big part and it was from another that Ellen Vanlint slipped it left to Hanna Hall to sweep in. 2-1 at half time.
That next goal was going to be all important and North Norfolk came close to getting in on a number of occasions. Rachel Miles was living up to her nickname and dominating in midfield, however and sadly with just 90 seconds left Cambridge got a scruffy equaliser.
North Norfolk played a great game and can certainly be proud of their efforts. 3 games in to the season and only 1 defeat but we go again for that all important first win next week
