Point on the board

Ladies 1s had their first away road trip of the season to St Neots on Saturday with 11 players! The game started on a high with some great talking from the team and a fantastic run down the right wing by Lucy to get straight into Saints D to pull it back for Hanna to finish, 1-0 within the first 10 minutes!
Saints were frustrated by this and saw themselves in North’s D but a great save by Lou and clearance by Janie, the score remained 1-0 to North.
Half time and both teams came out fighting again. Only 5 minutes into the second half and unfortunately Saints were awarded a flick which levelled the scores to 1-1
Another 10 minutes of hockey and North see themselves back in Saints D, with a bit of passing around and a couple of hits to the goalkeeper, eventually Issy finds the back board to put us ahead once again! 2-1
A frustrated St Neots really try and equalise now and after 2 shorts where they didn’t succeed, their 3rd short in a row saw them equalising!! 2-2
North didn’t give up there though, they had 2 other chances, with a great pass from Hannah to Ellen in the D, Ellen’s strike was just wide of the goal and another short corner awarded to North which Hanna had a cracking strike at goal which saw the back of the net but unfortunately was too high to be awarded!
A great match with all 11 players doing absolutely fantastic saw our first road trip ending 2-2! Great to have a point on the board!
