Match report: Norwich Dragons 6s Vs North Norfolk 2s:
Norwich Dragons hosted North Norfolk on a cold and slippery January afternoon.
North Norfolk started well by keeping the ball and creating a few early chances. It has often looked like North Norfolk have been playing a different sport over the last few weeks and that continued for the opener. Callum accurately connecting with a forehand tennis smash into the goal.
The Seconds continued to play much improved Hockey, moving the ball well and looking extremely solid at the back. Particularly impressive for a backline with the combined age of 300 years, with Snowy contributing a significant amount of those.
At this point a discombobulated looking Rob decided to join his fellow team mates.
Norfolk's second goal followed shortly with Jamie practising his golf swing from the edge of the area and drilling the ball past the keeper's right
Elation quickly turned to embarrassment after both of the first half scorers decided to celebrate like kids at an under 5's football match. Some would suggest this was to be expected from Norfolk born and bred Arsenal fans.
Despite continued pressure and decent chances the only other notable highlight came from Jamie faking an ankle injury so he could have a pint and vape on the sideline.
The 2s continued the second half in a similar manner with the greater share of possession and opportunities.
After much endeavour, North Norfolk finally won a short corner. The Dragons defender did his best Luis Suarez impression by handling Duncan's shot on the line resulting in a penalty flick. After a short scuffle between Duncan and Callum (reminiscent of the Lee Bowyer and Kieran Dyer fight many years ago) Duncan prevailed and slotted the ball home.
Henry's Man of the Match midfield display included a fourth goal, only for it to be ruled out by the umpires.
DoD continued to shout at North Norfolk's hard working players, while he squandered a golden chance after he bundled his way into the box. Things only got worse for DoD as he received a green card for not being able to untangle his stick quickly enough from an opposition player. He was welcomed to a barrage of abuse from the home supporters as he skulked around the pitch to the dugout.
North Norfolk managed to see out a comfortable 3-0 win with debut goalkeeper Glenn only having to make a couple of important saves.
An excellent all round team performance.
