The Fortress remains strong!!

NNHC ladies 1st team welcomed Christchurch ladies to their fortress with the return of some proper hockey weather, quite a change in the temperature from last weeks battle against Magpies.
With two key players out this week, we welcomed Jane Delph and Ayla Spells into the team with open arms, and they didn’t disappoint!
In true North Norfolk style we applied pressure from the whistle in the first half to create numerous chances with some great running from our super speedy Lucy Spencer down the right and Charlie Fiske in the centre, but unfortunately we could not find the back of the net against a strong agricultural ‘big hitting’ Christchurch team.
Christchurch came out from the break with a different approach which allowed North Norfolk to play some nicer looking passing hockey which resulted in Lucy Spencer scoring a well deserved goal from a short corner.
Suzanne who has been completely thrown into the deep end as first team goalkeeper this season, made some great saves to keep us 1-0 up. The second goal game from Hanna Hall with a straight strike from another short.
A massive shout out goes to North Norfolk’s defence today, Julie Mercer, Jane Delph, Lisa Trussell and Ayla Spells, who all put in great performances to make their team proud. Rachel Miles worked tirelessly in the middle of the park to support, attack and defend as usual.
Although North Norfolk could have and should have had more goals today, it’s still another 3 points in the bag! ?
Thankyou to all of our family, friends and supporters who came along to watch today in the rain, it really does help!
Bury away next week, bring it on!

Hanna Hall.
